Woody Black and Jean Vernon met in a small Texas bible college and shortly after they married. Woody Black returned with his southern bride to his hometown Hammond, Indiana. They spent many years in Hammond until Cindy's father was offered a job as an overhead crane operator for American Hoist in Bay City, Michigan. Then on August 7th Cindy was born at General Hospital. Jean plays the piano by ear and Woody plays accordion and keyboard. Having both northern and southern roots Cindy grew up listening to many styles of music. Her father Woodrow Wilson Black is a pilot, minister, musician, sign painter, and author. Her mother Elta Jean Black is musician, artist, and accountant.
Woody is the oldest; Cindy grew up calling him by his middle name Steve. Woody started playing acoustic guitar and later learned electric. Woody currently owns Woody's Music in downtown St. Louis.
Bruce is a free-spirited entrepaneur of the open road his hobbies have included hang gliding, fast cars, and scuba diving. Hello Bruce where ever you are!
Dexter currently works on heating and plumbing, has a hobby of collecting Civil War memorabilia.
Brian who created maintains this website and many others, is the youngest brother but Cindy remains the baby of the family. He currently works with computers and software through his contract company.
